Bulk carrier struck icebreaker and sustained damages, Gulf of Finland
Bulk carrier S-BRONCO struck icebreaker MUDYUG (IMO 8009181) at 0930 Moscow time Jan 25, during ice channeling in Morskoy Seaway, S-Petersburg Port approaches.bulk carrier sustained bow damages 2 meters above waterline, no visible damages on icebreaker. Ships continued moving through ice, S BRONCO was berthed at S-Petersburg Port same day.

Dutch freighter didn t make it and was taken on tow
General cargo ship FWN RUBY suffered technical failure while approaching Las Palmas en route from Antwerp, being some 5.6 nm off port. Spanish SAR ship MIGUEL DE CERVANTES (IMO 9320116) took freighter on tow and towed her to Las Palmas same day, where she was berthed. FWN RUBY left Las Palmas on Jan 26, bound for West Africa.

Coaster beached in Taiwan Strait Update broke in two, total loss
Jan 26: Taiwanese coaster JIAMING LUN broke in two on Jan 26 or 25, after being battered by heavy swell. All fuel was siphoned earlier, so there s no danger of pollution.
