Argus launches first new IMO 2020 compliant marine fuel assessment
Global energy and commodity price reporting agency Argus today launched a low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) price assessment for the shipping fuel market in Singapore.

Typhoon Trami beached cargo ship, Kawasaki Video
General cargo ship MARINA was pushed by passing typhoon Trami on breakwater of Kawasaki port, Greater Tokyo, at around 0200 Tokyo time Oct 1, and as of 1400 Tokyo time, was still aground. 12 crew left the ship and get to the shore, no injures reported. Understood hull breached, leak probable. According to track, the ship was anchored, anchor dragged, the ship tried to hold on but couldn t make it, and drifted on breakwater.

Pyxis Completes Refinancing of MR2 Tanker
Greek product tanker company Pyxis Tankers said it had completed the refinancing of a previous loan facility for one of its vessels, Pyxis Epsilon.
After repayment of existing bank debt, the new five-year secured loan provided the company approximately USD 7.3 million of additional net proceeds for general corporate purposes.

Trafigura Concludes Charter Contract for TNG s Dalmacija
Multinational commodity trading company Trafigura has terminated a time charter contract for chemical/product tanker Dalmacija with Croatian shipping company Tankerska Next Generation (TNG).
After nearly three years from delivery, the duo has mutually agreed to conclude an almost fully utilized time charter employment contract for the eco-designed MR product tanker.

Consortium to Upgrade Swinoujscie Szczecin Fairway
A consortium of Dredging International and Van Oord received a contract for the modernisation of the Swinoujscie - Szczecin fairway in Poland. Under the deal, the parties will undertake deepening and widening of the fairway along a section of approximately 62 km from -10.5 to -12.5 m.

Russian and Chinese cargo ships collided in Shanghai waters
Russian cargo ship AMUR collided with Chinese cargo ship XIN LIN HAI 6 at around 1600 UTC Sep 28 while leaving Shanghai in Yangtze estuary, and was brought to anchor near grounding site. Later the ship was ordered to move to inner anchorage in Changxing area. As of 1530 UTC Sep 29, the ship was in the same position. XIN LIN HAI 6, according to AIS, is also at anchor further offshore. No information on damages yet, but according to MRCC Moscow report, there s no hull breach, no leak.

Tanker and container ship with the same name ERATO collision, Greece
Bunker tanker ERATO collided with anchored container ship ERATO in Piraeus Anchorage in the afternoon Sep 29, understood while mooring alongside for bunkering. Both ships sustained slight damages, but according to local sources, there were no breaches and leak.

Lighter sank being hit by bulk carrier Update
Sep 30: According to latest local updates, NEW LEGACY was contacted or struck by bulk carrier DENSA TIGER, which was also undergoing cargo operation with lighter or lighters alongside. Under the impact, NEW LEGACY struck lighter CHAR SAMAIL. Both bulk carriers said to be damaged.

Khalifa Port Receives First ARMG and STS cranes for COSCO SHIPPING Abu Dhabi Terminal
Abu Dhabi Ports announced today the delivery of the first shipments of Automated Rail Mounted Gantry Crane (ARMG) Ship-to-shore quay cranes (STS) to Khalifa Port. Shipped from Shanghai, the ten state-of-the-art ARMG Cranes and four STS Cranes are the initial batches of equipment to be installed at COSCO SHIPPING Abu Dhabi Terminal, the second container terminal being built at Khalifa Port due for completion at the end of this year.

Port of Long Beach Joins World Ports Climate Action Program
The Port of Long Beach and six other international seaports recognized for advancing innovative environmental initiatives are combining forces to launch the "World Ports Climate Action Program."
Long Beach will join port authorities in Los Angeles; Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Hamburg, Germany; Barcelona, Spain; Antwerp, Belgium; and Vancouver, Canada in developing projects to address global warming and meet the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement, a United Nations-led effort to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Illegal berths, sand-mining targeted along Yangtze River
