OLDENDORFF cargo ship collided with bridge, thousands cut off water, Japan
General cargo ship ERNA OLDENDORFF contacted Oshima Bridge which is connecting Yanai city, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Honshu, with Suo-Oshima island, Inner Japan sea, at around 0030 Tokyo time Oct 22. ERNA OLDENDORFF was en route from Qingdao China to Kure Japan, she reached Kure and was brought to anchor at 1220 Tokyo time. Mast was damaged by contact, see pic. Bridge understood not to sustain damages, and remains open for traffic, but water pipe under the bridge broke up, leaving thousands of islanders without water supply. TV and Internet cables were also broken.

World s Largest LNG Bunker Supply Vessel Heads for the Baltic Sea
The world s largest LNG bunker supply vessel Kairos departed from the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea, on October 17, heading for the ship s primary area of operation in Northwest Europe.
The ship, with an LNG capacity of 7,500 is the world s largest LNG bunkering vessel, and it is expected to be ready for operations before the end of 2018.

Pavilion Energy Takes Two BW s LNG Newbuilds on Long-Term Charter
Singapore s Pavilion Energy has signed an agreement with BW Group (BW) for the long-term charter of two M-type, electronically controlled, gas injection (MEGI) LNG newbuilds.
The 173,400 vessels are scheduled for delivery between 2019 and 2020, and are intended to boost Pavilion Energy s global portfolio and LNG trading expansion.

MSI: Bulkers without Scrubbers Will Become Uncompetitive
Early adopters of the exhaust gas cleaning technology are set to reap the fruits from higher charter rates and asset values once the 2020 sulphur cap enters into force, pushing up the low sulphur fuel prices.
Based on a five-year time horizon, Maritime Strategies International (MSI) believes there will be a technology-led two-tier market for dry bulk timecharter rates, similar to that seen in the LNG sector.

Ferry contacted yachts, grounded, refloated, Isle of Wight
Ferry RED FALCON while proceeding to pier at Cowes Harbor, Isle of Wight, UK, in dense fog contacted several yachts at neighbouring marina, and ran aground after that, at around 0730 UTC Oct 21. Ferry was refloated some 3 hours later, and berthed, seemingly undamaged. No confirmed information on damaged yachts yet how many were contacted, and how badly they were affected. Ferry connects Southampot with Cowes, Isle of Wight.

Libya s Hariga oil port operating normally following protest -workers
Libya s eastern oil export port of Hariga was on Friday working normally a day after a protest at its gate, port workers said. Late on Thursday, dozens of tribesmen staged a demonstration at the port s gate in protest against the appointment by the internationally recognised government in Tripoli of a government minister, a member of the powerful Obeidat tribe told Reuters.
