Kitack Lim Wins Second Term at the Helm of IMO
Kitack Lim has been given a second four-year term as Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Namely, the IMO Council agreed to renew Lim s appointment, starting in January 2020 and the decision is yet to be approved by the IMO Assembly in December, the organization informed.

JAXPORT Wins USD 46 Mn for Harbor Deepening
The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) has received additional USD 46 million in funding from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Jacksonville Harbor deep draft navigation project.
The 47-foot deepening improvement project, authorized by the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014, will enable mega-sized container vessels to enter the port.

Aegean Marine Unlocks Funds after First Day Motions Approval
Marine fuel logistics company Aegean Marine Petroleum Network has secured access to USD 532 million in financing after it received US court approval of all the company s first day motions.
The US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York granted the interim approval related to the company s voluntary Chapter 11 restructuring, immediately improving the company s liquidity position.

Yamal LNG Starts Production at 3rd Train a Year Ahead of Plan
Yamal LNG, a joint venture liquefied natural gas production project in Sabetta, has commenced initial production of LNG at the plant s third train, Russian gas company Novatek, majority shareholder in the JV, said.
The total nameplate capacity of all three LNG trains is 16.5 mmtpa, or 5.5 mmtpa per LNG train.

Cargo ship ran aground, breached, Ukraine
General cargo ship OREL-3 ran aground and reportedly, sustained hull breach, at around 0600 UTC Nov 22 on Dniepr River, Ukraine, shortly after leaving Zaporozhye port, and proceeding downstream. Information is rather scethy, it may be assumed, that the ship contacted some object and was breached, Master beached her on sandy river bank to avoid or to minimize water ingress. The ship loaded with scrap was bound for Greece.

KSS Line Renews LPG Transportation Deal with Vitol
South Korean shipping company KSS Line is renewing its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) transportation contract with energy and commodities company Vitol.
On November 22, 2018, KSS Line inked a KRW 8.08 billion (USD 7.15 million) one-year contract with Vitol.

Shipowner association BIMCO is developing a cyber security clause in cooperation with shipping companies Klaveness and Navig8.

Euronav Wins Tanker Operator of the Year Award
Belgian tanker owner Euronav has claimed the Tanker Operator of the Year award at the annual Tanker Shipping & Trade Conference Award ceremony in London held on Wednesday evening, November 21.
Euronav was competing against Russian shipping company SCF Group and Danish counterpart Norden for the prestigious award.

New Dayang Shipbuilding Lining Up Orders Post-Restructuring
New Dayang Shipbuilding has reportedly inked a Letter of Intent (LoI) with China Development Bank Leasing for the construction of a dozen of bulkers, according to Asiasis.
The LoI was allegedly signed at the company s inauguration ceremony on November 20 and covers the construction of 12, 63,500 dwt Ultramaxes.

South Korea Unveils Financial Boost for Smaller Shipbuilders
South Korea has prepared another financial boost for its shipbuilding industry with an aim to help small and mid-sized shipbuilders.
According to an announcement released by the government, South Korea plans to design new opportunities for these shipbuilders, worth around KRW 1 trillion (USD 885.3 million), through the promotion of environmentally friendly ships.
