STENA tanker stranded in Brazil for more than a month, being "test positive"
Product tanker STENA PREMIUM with 27 crew on board is stuck at Cabedelo, Brazil, since Apr 24. Twelve crew were found virus test positive, all of them remain on board, understood nobody is in need of hospital treatment, or any treatment, with that. The National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) is to run serological (antibody) tests to determine crew fate, whether the ship may be released, or has to remain stuck. Understood Master of the ship demanded from authorities to find a solution, and free tanker. ANVISA said that tanker probably, will be allowed to leave with "infected asymptomatic" crew, while those who re found not to be fully "asymptomatic", should be moved to hotel.Posted On:27-May-2020

Capesize bulk carrier collision with Chinese bulk carrier off Shanghai
CASTA DIVA left anchorage early in the morning May 26, new port of destination Hua Feng (ZHOUSHAN HUAFENG SHIP YARD CO.,LTD), ETA May 26, for repairs.
CASTA DIVA collided with Chinese bulk carrier MING LIAN at around 1930 UTC May 19 (0330 May 20 Beijing time). CASTA DIVA left Shanghai (Jiangyin, Wuxi, Yangtze river) and was proceeding to sea after disembarking pilot, MING LIAN was sailing in WNW direction, en route to Rizhao, Yellow sea, N of Shanghai. COSCO container ship cargo fire, probably containers lost overboard
Container ship COSCO SAO PAULO arrived at Cape Town outer anchorage on May 25 from Durban, South Africa, and was anchored in a rough weather. Ship experienced heavy roll but wasn t allowed to enter port, as reportedly, she suffered fire in one of cargo holds early May 25. It is rumoured, that she lost some of containers while anchored. Ship assessors are resorting to virtual inspections of oil tankers to keep vessels afloat, as the coronavirus pandemic makes physical visits to check for seaworthiness tougher and a slump in fuel demand increases the need for ships as storage.

Nigeria : MWUN send palliatives to stranded foreign seafarers on Lagos waters
MARITIME Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, has sent food items and other materials to the 18-man foreign crew onboard MT ORYX TRADER vessel stranded for over three months at the Lagos Anchorage. The crew onboard is made up foreign nationals, with a Pakistani as its captain and an Ukrainian as chief officer.

Al Kuwait crew stopped from disembarking in Fremantle Port as six workers aboard livestock ship test positive for coronavirus
Six crew members aboard a livestock ship docked at Fremantle Port have tested positive for COVID-19, with fears the remaining 42 crew will also come down with the disease.
Premier Mark McGowan announced the new cases this afternoon, saying he was only informed of the situation this morning.
