Fifteen crew members on Royal Caribbean s Navigator of the Seas cruise ship say they are on a hunger strike until the company agrees to send them home.
After nearly two months stranded at sea since the industry halted operations amid the COVID-19 pandemic on March 13, the crew members, who have not eaten since Thursday afternoon, told the Miami Herald they are desperate. 3 cruise ships carrying only crew to dock at Port of Oakland - KERO 23ABC News
Officials say three cruise ships that have not carried passengers or crew members with the coronavirus will dock at the Port of Oakland for several months.
The Port of Oakland said Friday the Oakland-bound Norwegian Cruise Line vessels will arrive in the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend. Two will tie up Saturday at the Outer Harbor Terminal, which is not in use for shipping.

General cargo ship SCHELDEBANK collided with Kiel Canal ferry HOCHDONN (MMSI 211594520) in the morning May 8 in Hochdonn area, while transiting in northern direction. Coronavirus: Up to 2,000 UK seafarers stranded - BBC News
Up to 2,000 UK seafarers are stranded on ships around the world because of coronavirus lockdowns, the industry s trade body has told the BBC.
The UK Chamber of Shipping wants the UK government to become the first to sign up to a global plan to get crews home.
And the Nautilus International maritime union said seafarers stuck on ships for months were depressed and homesick, "with no end in sight" to their ordeal.

Maritime transport sees slowdown, cutting costs crucial
Cutting costs is critical for the maritime transport sector, which is seeing a slowing down in activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a report by the Viet Nam Maritime Administration, the transport of passengers and goods via seaports during the pandemic s peak period saw a fall of 100 per cent against the same period last year.
Only two international cruise ships arrived in March. Operators also announced the cancellation of all expected cruise ships carrying international passengers to ports in Nha Trang and Vung Tau in the second quarter of this year.
