| Please note that MEC3 course from New Zealand is considered equivalent to the Class 4 course from India or UK. Students after clearing the MEC3 CoC from New Zealand can give the Class II and Class I exams from Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton, UK if they wish to. |

Secondly, students who are not eligible to give their Class 4 (EOOW) exams in UK for e.g.: |
| Engine Ratings who do not have a STCW III/4 Watch Rating Certificate |
| BE Mechanical / Marine students who have sailed on ships but have filled Indian Record Books (MCA UK does not accept TRB from other countries) |
| may be eligible to give their exams from New Zealand Maritime School subject to their getting their eligibility from Maritime New Zealand (MNZ). |
