The wage increase...thats very very positive as far as the tanker trade is concerned, but sadly wages havent been hiked up much on the boxships or carships.. the stress levels are enormous, not to mention so many port calls..speed problems... Boxships do have their share of cargo cases so do carships with their expensive cargoes..

We should get together and demand a wage hike...some chaps take us for 4.5 grand, others 5 and newer at 6.1, 6.2.  A uniform wage scale is required depending upon seniority so that there aint no bargaining....
five six hundred bucks less than the tans are ok...not so much of the present difference!!

What say Guyz?????????

this is absolutely true, since stress, work environment(a lot things are not directly under a duty off's control in box ships) is much harsh than the returns we get

Wages are a matter of supply and demand. When there's a shortage of qualified officers, the sky's the limit. If not, management has the upper hand.

The wages are not uniform with the companies and its a tell tale sign of problems which we can expect in the future. Our market is definetly not going to run like this for a very long time as chines are waiting in the wings to take over from us as what we did from the europeans.
