Seafaring is a high risk profession as we have to undergo strict medical fitness tests every time we want to join a ship. We all know that if we fail medical fitness then we cannot join ship, also we cannot revalidate our c.o.c. and sit for our next exams. Therefore my advise to all the seafarers is acquire some extra skills apart from shipping in case you need it, so that you can fall back on it and that will help you to continue to support your family financially.
