TRAINING MANAGER - DECK
EPIC SHIP MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. - REGIONAL OPERATING HEADQUARTERS (ROHQ) -MANILA OFFICE

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the training, competence development and career progression of our Engineering Seafarersand Cadets
  1. Responsible for managing an annual training budget of approx. 1.5 Million USD, and ensureeconomic handling all training related expenses.
  2. Negotiate contracts with external training institutes for Engineering courses. Auditing andreviewing external training Centres course material, effectiveness and compliance to ourstandards/requirements.
  3. Responsible for developing Engineering training courses, in close co-operation with theTechnical and Safety Operations teams.
  4. Develop and conduct internal training courses and seminars, with budgetary control.
  5. Responsible for seafarer promotion assessment, training requirements and careerprogression. Seafarer debriefs on Performance, training needs evaluation and trainingassignment.
  6. Responsible for cadets training program covering selection, development, careerprogression and certification.
  7. Train and Assist the Manning Operations team on any new Regulations and Certificationrequirements.
  8. Responsible for the training team business processes and procedures, building continualefficiency in the Training software.
  9. Carry out new Recruited Seafarers competence interviews for selection to the Fleet.
  10. Responsible for the Cadet selection program, developing awareness in various Colleges inManila, build cadet development training programs – ashore and onboard, monitor Cadetscareer progression
  • Will be required to travel to handle all the Training requirements, and occasionally visit vessels forupgrading/refreshing their operational skills.
  • This position reports to the Head of ROHQ in Manila office.

  • Requirements:
  • Candidates must hold a Master’s Certificate of Competency.
  • Sailed as Captain on LPG vessels.
  • Shore Experience in Training preferred but not mandatory.
  • Committed and responsible in meeting deadlines, with excellent time management skills.
  • Independent, outcome driven, organized and resourceful.
  • Strong team orientation and has the ability to manage cross-functional relationships in a dynamicand fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage 24/7 on call lifestyle.

    MANAGER, FLEET PERSONNEL - SINGAPORE OFFICE
    TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the liaison between Crewing, Technical, Safety, Commercial and Accounting Teams for all manningrelated issues.
  • Assist Head of Crewing in ensuring that all vessels are adequately manned as per regulations / Flag Staterequirements and in line with Company IMS procedures.
  • Assist and monitoring with Audits, issuance of Non-Conformances.
  • Assist in planning of viable strategies for future growth in manning.
  • Maintain close interactions with Crew Unions and Flag Authorities.
  • Keep track of market trends and seafarers’ wages in the many sourcing areas.
  • Assist with preparation of relevant reports for management as per schedules (monthly / quarterly / halfyearly / yearly).
  • Preparation of Manning Budgets and Wage scales.
  • Recruitment liaison with external Manning agents.
  • Maintain overview of all Manning operations, expenses, P&I claims, Shore Medical.
  • Maintain good overview of the Department Budget vs OPEX.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree / Diploma in relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a reputable shipping / ship management company.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage 24/7 on call lifestyle.

    SHIP MANAGER - SINGAPORE / LONDON OFFICE
    TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily technical & operations matters of our fleet in accordance with corporate policies &procedures, local and international statutory rules & regulations.
  • Implement and maintain a safe, environmental friendly, dependable and cost effective standard inaccordance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Oversee technical, operational and docking related matters. Ensure statutory certification, condition ofclass, regular surveys and inspections are completed within scheduled dates.
  • Establish consistent, professional and efficient service delivery standards at all times.
  • Maintain stringent cost control of operating budget including financial reporting and preparing of vessels'annual budgets.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Holding Chief Engineers Certificate of Competency.
  • Sailing experience on MAN B&W ME type engines as Chief Engineer or 1st Assistant Engineer.
  • No shore experience required.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage 24/7 on call lifestyle.
  • Ability to develop, improve and implement safe, and cost effective technical vessel managementprocesses.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations governing vessels' management.
  • Committed and responsible in meeting deadlines with excellent time management skills.
  • Independent, outcome driven, organized and resourceful.
  • Strong team orientation and has the ability to manage cross-functional relationships in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    SAFETY & TRAINING SUPERINTENDENT - LONDON OFFICE
    TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the HSE Manager and Operations & Quality Manager.
  • Analyse reports such as Safety, SIRE/CDI inspection, PSC inspections, Internal audits, Near misses,Incidents/Accidents. Where required, advice vessels on matters related to marine activities.
  • Monitor the evolving changes to the SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, Class, Flag State, Oil Major and otherapplicable requirements and plan the implementation of the same on vessels.
  • Conduct internal audits on ships. Identify areas for improvement and verify implementation of thecorrective and preventive action.
  • Prepare and conduct trainings for officers and crew.
  • Conduct safety, environmental and security drills onboard to assess effectiveness.
  • Review and respond to safety and other reports received from vessels.
  • Conduct appraisals of Officers and recommend actions.
  • Assist HSE Manager, Operations & Quality Manager and Group Marine Assurance Manager onmarine and safety related issues on vessels.
  • Carry out management inspections and identify issues that may impact quality assurance.
  • Interview deck officers to evaluate suitability for selection/promotion.
  • Conduct investigation of incidents/accidents on board when appointed to do so by the GM.
  • Liaise with interested parties such as Class, Oil Majors, Ship Owners, Suppliers and otherstakeholders.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Master Mariner with minimum 2 years' sailing experience as a Master on LPG Vessels.
  • Previous work experience ashore in a similar role handling LPG vessels is desirable.
  • Ability to travel and respond at short notice.
  • Ability to improve/develop and implement safe, dependable and cost-effective vessel managementprocesses.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations governing vessels' management.
  • Committed and responsible in meeting deadlines, with excellent time management skills.
  • Independent, organized, “hands on” attitude with a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness anddrive.
  • Proactive, open-minded with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
