Cargo Vessel Sinks after Colliding with CMA CGM Norma
Chinese-flagged general cargo vessel YuSheng 366 sank following a collision with Post Panamax containership CMA CGM Norma, Chinese media reported.
As informed, the ship s crew has been rescued and there are no signs of maritime pollution at the moment.

World s Largest FLNG Facility Starts Production
Royal Dutch Shell s Prelude FLNG facility, the world s largest floating liquefied gas facility, has commenced production offshore Western Australia.
"Today the wells have been opened at the Prelude FLNG facility and the initial phase of production has commenced," INPEX, who is involved in developing the project in Block WA44-L in partnership with Shell and other project companies, said in a statement.

Indonesian Port of Merak Reopens after Tsunami
Indonesian Port of Merak has reopened following a tsunami which struck the country s coastline on Saturday. The Port of Merak opened in the morning hours of December 24, GAC informed.
No change to draft restrictions at its two terminals, approach channels or anchorage is reported.

Cargo ship pushed aground by storm, Black sea, Russia
General cargo ship SUROV was pushed aground by strong wind and high sea at 0305 Moscow time Dec 25, near Mys (Point) Zheleznyy Rog, Volna village, southwestern coast of Taman Peninsula, Russia, Black sea. The ship was ballasting from Turkey to, officially, Kavkaz Port, Kerch Strait, but AIS is off several days already, so probably, SUROV was to make call Crimean port, which is illegal, in accordance with sanctions imposed on Crimean ports and shipping.

Cargo ship capsized and sank in Singapore Strait
Deck cargo ship AMANDA capsized and sank in the afternoon Dec 25 some 3 nm east of Tanjung Sepang, Malaysia, eastern Singapore Strait. The ship suffered steering failure, went out of control, collided with another ship (understood anchored), capsized and sank. Of 9 Bangladeshi and Chinese crew, 6 people were rescued, 3 went missing.

GEFO Books Up to 4 LNG-Ready Chemical Tankers at AVIC Dingheng
German shipping group GEFO Gesellschaft fur Oeltransporte MBH (GEFO) has signed a contract for up to four 7,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers with China s AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding.
The contract covers two firm orders and two optional ships to be designed by marine engineering firm FKAB.

Balearia s New Smart Ship Supplied with LNG in Venice
Balearia s new smart ship with LNG engines, Hypatia de Alejandria, received recently its first LNG supply in the Port of Venice, Italy.
Constructed at Cantiere Navale Visentini shipyard in Porto Viro, the ship will be the first LNG-powered ferry to operate in the Mediterranean.

India: Four major ports sign MoU to buy government stake in DCI
Four major port trusts have signed an MoU among themselves to acquire the government s 73.44 per cent stake in Dredging Corporation of India (DCI).
Under the MoU, Visakhapatnam Port Trust will buy a 19.44 per cent stake from the government while Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Deendayal Port Trust and Paradip Port Trust will take an 18 per cent stake each.

Klaipeda Seaport has opened the gates to one of the largest vessels worldwide
On the 19th of December of 2018 one of the largest 19 462 TEU ( 20 feet equivalent unit) capacity vessel „MSC Ingy" operated by the shipping line „Mediterranean Shipping Company" (MSC) successfully entered Klaipeda Seaport. It was a trial passage of the vessel.
