Mega container ship grounding during Suez Canal transit Ultra Large Containe Vessel AL ZUBARA ran aground in the morning Dec 18 while transiting Suez Canal in southern direction, in Ismailya area. She was refloated in some 5-6 hours with tugs assistance and resumed transit, which was completed at around 1900 UTC. The ship continued voyage, being en route from Rotterdam to Singapore, without any further delay, so understood, there weren t any damages.Posted On:19-Dec-2020

Bulk carrier aground, breached, crew evacuated, Yellow sea Bulk carrier JIN HANG YU 10 ran aground at Penglai anchorage, Shandong, China, Yellow sea, in the morning Dec 18. Ship’s hull was breached in engine room area, engine room was flooded, Master asked for evacuation. All 16 crew were airlifted and transported to Penglai. General cargo ship on fire after explosions, Napier NZ General cargo ship KOTA BAHAGIA, berthed at Napier NZ, suffered explosions and fire in cargo hold in the morning local time Dec 18. The ship arrived at Napier from China on Dec 17, with mixed cargo, including wind turbines and freezer dryer. There s a lot of black "foul smelling" smoke around, evacuation of locals was mentioned, but not confirmed.
