Crude oil tanker attacked, robbed in Singapore Strait |
Aframax KORO SEA was attacked by pirates in Singapore Strait abeam of Changi Airport, Singapore, at around 2000 LT Dec 13, while under way in eastern direction, en route from Saudi Arabia to China. Four pirates armed with knives boarded tanker, which apparently has low freeboard being in full load, and came into engine room, assaulting duty oiler. Alarm was raised, pirates fled with some stolen engine spare parts. Oiler was slightly injured.

Ferry collided with yacht, 3 people thrown into water, Sydney |
Manly s ferry NARRABEEN collided with sailing yacht at around 1440 LT Dec 16 in Sydney Harbor near Fort Denison, Australia. Three passengers were thrown overboard, rescued and treated for chest and leg injures. Not clear where those thrown overboard were, on yacht or on ferry. On photo damaged in collision yacht. Ferry probably, suffered some dents and scratches.

Norwegian freighter on tow after strenuous night, Atlantic |
General cargo vessel FAME in adverse weather conditions lost power and started to drift at around 1700 UTC Dec 14 west of Scottish Hebridean island of Lewis and Harris, North Atlantic, while en route from Stromness. Vessel drifted in southern direction throughout all night Dec 15, with lifeboats nearby and 5 crew refusing to leave vessel. At around 1000 UTC Dec 15 vessel was taken on tow by offshore tug IEVOLI BLACK (IMO 9439242), to be towed to port on Lewis island. At 1200 UTC Dec 15 caravan was moving almost due north, at some 4 knots speed.
