Argentine port workers, export firms far from deal to end strike -source Argentina agro-export companies and grains port workers are still far from reaching a salary agreement, a port chamber source said on Tuesday, prolonging strikes that continue to impact shipments from one of the world’s top exporters.
The URGARA union, which represents inspectors who check the quality of grains before they are loaded onto ships, launched surprise strikes on Monday to protest stalled wage talks, hitting shipments in some major terminals of Puerto General San Martín, San Lorenzo, Quequén and Bahía Blanca.Posted On:12-Nov-2020

General cargo ship SPLENDOR TAIPEI contact pier while unmooring at Taichung Port, Taiwan, at night Nov 10, in rough weather conditions. Ships bow sustained serious damages, including hull breach and water ingress. The ship was assisted by tugs and later shifted to another berth, she remained at port, for repairs and investigation. Bulk carrier beached by typhoon at Dung Quat port, Vietnam. Bulk carrier GIA BAO 268 was beached by passing typhoon at night Nov 9 at Dung Quat port, Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam. Turkish fishing boat sank, 4 dead 1 missing, Med. Greek Suezmax tanker EPHESOS collided with Turkish fishing boat south of Karatas, Adana Province, eastern Med, shortly after leaving Ceyhan Oil Terminal, at around 0300 UTC Nov 11. Update: Tanker attacked, situation developing, Gulf of Guinea. Merchant ship was attacked in Gulf of Guinea some 85 nm SSW of Lagos Nigeria, at around 0120 UTC Nov 11. Understood it s Greek-operated product tanker JANE (IMO 9364588, dwt 51505), crossing attack site at the time of attack. After passing attack site, ship’s movements became chaotic, she was probably, either out of control after pirates boarded the ship, or trying to avoid pirates boarding.Posted On:12-Nov-2020
