Passenger ship with 516 passengers on board collided with freighter, Indonesia Passenger ship KELIMUTU with 516 passengers on board collided with cargo ship MAJU 88 on Dec 13 in Sampit river, shortly after departure from Sampit Port, southern Borneo, and proceeding downstream to Java sea. Ships collided in narrow channel, KELIMUTU suffered hull breach some two meters long in anchor hawse, above waterline. No information on MAJU 88 damages, though surely, there must be some, probably serious. KELIMUTU returned to Sampit, passengers were disembarked, their tickets refunded. KELIMUTU is to stay until Dec 15 at Sampit for repairs.Posted On:15-Dec-2017

Both vessels sustained slight damages. As of 1300 UTC Dec 14, both vessels were still at Kavkaz port, anchored at Kavkaz anchorage, Kerch Strait.
