JAXPORT Receives Cruise Ships Displaced by COVID-19 Four cruise ships will dock at JAXPORT and remain at the port during the cruise industry s voluntary suspension of US cruise operations due to coronavirus, the Jacksonville Port Authority said.

UAE Bans MSC-Operated Boxship for Violating Carriage Ban Federal Transport Authority of the United Arab Emirates (FTA) has banned the Panama-flagged containership MSC Joanna from operating in UAE waters and ports for a duration of one year over violation of the carriage ban.

CLIA: 500 Cruises Impacted by Suspension of US Cruise Operations The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the world s largest cruise industry trade association, said that its members will be temporarily suspending cruise ship operations from and to U.S. ports of call for 30 days as public health officials and the U.S. Government continue to address COVID-19.

ClassNK: AiP Granted for LPG Reformed Gas-Fueled Coastal LPG Carrier Classification society ClassNK has awarded approval in principle (AiP) to Japan-based Daihatsu Diesel for its concept design of an LPG reformed gas-fueled coastal LPG carrier.

India: Iron ore, finished fertilizers help ports tide over falling volumes in coal Iron ore and finished fertilizers shipments have enabled major ports to tide over falling volumes in coal and other miscellaneous cargo.

Throughput of Russian seaports in 2M 2020 grew by 0.7% to 132.4 million tonnes of cargo (detalization) In January-February 2020, seaports of Russia handled 132.4 million tonnes of cargo (up 0.7%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 54.9 million tonnes (-2.3%) including 24.9 million tonnes of coal (+0.2%), 9.1 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+5.4%), 5.5 million tonnes of grain (-10.3%), 4.5 million tonnes of ferrous metal (-11.2%), 2.5 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (-18.1%) and 1.6 million tonnes of ore (+31.1%).Posted On:16-Mar-2020
