Workers stranded on container ship Tropic Hope to be repatriated from Plam Beach (Florida). Seven international workers who have been stuck on board a container ship for more than a year will be repatriated Saturday, according to an inspector with the International Transport Workers' Federation.
The crew members are on the Tropic Hope, which docked in Halifax harbour Sunday night.
Karl Risser, the federation's inspector for Atlantic Canada, said he met with officials from the Canada Border Services Agency and Transport Canada that evening and came to a resolution.Posted On:6-Oct-2020

DNV GL Supports Flying Angel Campaign For Seafarers. In recognition of the ongoing crisis affecting seafarers during the COVID-19 pandemic, DNV GL has joined the Mission to Seafarers Flying Angel Campaign as a Gold sponsor. The sponsorship will be used to help fund the development of the Seafarers Happy-at-Sea App, which helps track seafarer welfare, book chaplain visits, and order medicine. Two general cargo ships troubled in Bosphorus in the morning Oct 3. Two general cargo ships were troubled in Bosphorus with some 3 hours interval, early in the morning Oct 3. VARNAVA suffered steering failure and started to drift in Beykoz area at around 0040 UTC Oct 3. She was towed by tugs to Byyukdere anchorage, Bosphorus. As of 0630 UTC Oct 4, she remained at anchor. The ship was transiting Bophorus in northern direction.

Dredger struck tanker, full-speed, Malacca Strait. Dredger OCEANLINE 5001 sailing at full speed struck anchored tanker STROVOLOS with moored alongside supply vessel, at around 1140 LT (UTC +8) Oct 2, on Melaka anchorage, Malaysia, Malacca Strait. The results can be seen on video - tanker suffered portside hull breach above waterline and apparently, some damage on cargo deck. Suez container traffic -15% due to COVID, Med-wide drop The Mediterranean continues to see 27% of container traffic transmitting through it of the about 500 shipping services lines in the world. India: Adani Ports completes Rs. 12000 Cr acquisition of Krishnapatnam Port. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) said on Monday it has completed the acquisition of a 75 per cent stake in Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd (KPCL) from the CVR Group for an enterprise value of Rs 12,000 crore.
The enterprise value of Rs 12,000 crore is lower than the Rs 13,572 crore indicated at the time of announcing the deal on January 3.
