Mega sailing yacht on fire, Langkawi Mega sailing yacht ENIGMA caught fire on Feb 18, being at anchor off Langkawi island, northeast Malaysia, Malacca Strait. There were 7 crew on board, all are safe. Fire was extinguished by the evening, according to Malaysian Maritime Authorities. Ferry ran aground after blackout, Aland islands Ferry ECKERO connecting Grisslehamn Sweden with Berghamn Aland islands, ran aground in the afternoon Feb 18 while entering Berghamn, after suffering a blackout. Problem was fixed, engines restarted, and ferry berthed at port, in a short time. Ship’s hull is to be surveyed, but so far, there are no reports or signs of hull breaches. Fish factory major fire, Tacoma Major fire erupted on board of fish factory ALEUTIAN FALCON, berthed at Takoma port, at night Feb 17. Firefighting continued well into morning Feb 18, several engines and tugs were deployed in firefighting, but firefighters couldn t board the ship because of ferocity of fire. In the morning the ship developed a visible list, hull cracks were reported, so tugs had to switch to hull cooling.Posted On:19-Feb-2021
