US Coast Guard Searching for Overdue Vessel with 20 People in the Bahamas The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for an overdue vessel with approximately 20 people on board off the Bahamas.

Tug with 18 tons of hashish seized off Canary Islands. Spanish law enforcement agencies intercepted and seized tug CYKLO 1 on Dec 29, some 180 nm northwest of Grand Canary, Canary Islands. Some 18 tons of hashish packed in bales were found on board. Tug was en route from Casablanca Morocco to Cape Verde, ETA Jan 3. Saudi Arabia: Two-third hike in container handling fee from Friday The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) will introduce new fee structures for cargo handling service from Friday, Jan. 1. The fee for handling containers of 20 or less cubic feet in length will be raised to SR450 from SR270, an increase of 66.67 percent.
The handling fee for containers with a length ranging between 20-40 cubic feet will be SR700 instead of the existing rate of SR415, an increase of 68.67 percent, while containers exceeding 40 feet in length will increase their fees to SR740 from SR415.Posted On:1-Jan-2021

Petrobras concentrates European commercial activities in Rotterdam Petrobras is to concentrate its European commercial activities in Rotterdam. This will result in the transfer of Petrobras Europe Ltd.’s commercial activities from London, England to Petrobras Global Trading B.V. in Rotterdam. India: Govt implementing Rs 320-cr project for 5 ports to enable digital ecosystem The government is implementing a Rs 320-crore project for five major ports in order to provide a digital port ecosystem, according to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
These ports are Mumbai, Chennai, Deendayal, Paradip and Kolkata (including Haldia).
"An enterprise business system (EBS) is being implemented at five major ports with a project cost of about Rs 320 crore to provide a digital port ecosystem," Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has said in a document.Posted On:1-Jan-2021
