Swedish Ports of Stockholm wrapped up 2018 as a record revenue year, with stable freight volumes and a record number of cruise passengers.

Croatia: FID Adopted for Krk LNG Terminal
The final investment decision for the floating LNG terminal on the Croatian Island of Krk was adopted on January 31, 2019.
The decision was adopted based on the results of the binding Open Season procedure which determines future revenues of the project, the projection of capital expenditures in relation to the conducted procurement procedures for FSRU vessel and EPC works (construction of jetty with auxiliary facilities and high-pressure connecting gas pipeline for the receiving LNG terminal) and the projections of required investment by LNG Croatia shareholders.Posted On:5-Feb-2019

APL Vancouver Hit by Fire off Vietnam
The Singapore-flagged containership APL Vancouver suffered fire in the early morning hours of January 31, while it was sailing from Shekou to Singapore.

Tallink Grupp Vessel Joins Research Project for Autonomous Ships
Estonian shipping company Tallink Grupp has joined researchers from the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute, Aalto University and Fleetrange Ltd. to develop techniques for autonomous navigation for ships.

Tema Port expansion project receives 27 gantry cranes
On the 1st of February 2019, Meridian Port Services Limited (MPS) received the 2nd batch of gantry cranes ordered for the Tema Port Expansion Project.
This follows the purchase agreement signed in August 2017 between Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co. (ZPMC) and MPS led by Minister of Transport, Hon. Import revenue up by 3.9% as paperless port boosts corruption ranking score
Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) data show that import revenue increased by 3.9 percent at the end of the 2018 calendar year.

DP World to invest up to Dh1bn expanding Jebel Ali in 2019
DP World, the global ports operator, plans to spend between Dh500 million and Dh1 billion to expand Jebel Ali free zone this year and seeks new acquisitions following a deal to buy a Chilean ports operator last month.

Qatar-based maritime transport and logistics company Milaha has launched the new Black Sea Express Service (BSX) - the company s first European service linking the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
