1.2 ton cocaine more found on German freighter with Russian Master. Cargo of bagged millet and corn in cargo hold of unfortunate general cargo ship UNISPIRIT was strenuously searched by unified Spanish police, CG and Customs teams during five consecutive days at Las Palmas, Canry Islands. Greek tanker off AIS, communication, probably hijacked, Gulf of Guinea. Product tanker ERRINA was reportedly attacked in the morning Oct 22 in Gulf of Guinea west of Sao Tome, or understood to be attacked, after tanker’s SSAS was activated. Tanker is trading in Gulf of Guinea waters since last year, actually since she was built (2019). Her latest AIS signal dated Oct 20 after she left Limbe Terminal, Cameroon. The headquarters of the Nigeria Ports Authority on Lagos Island has been affected by a fire amidst ongoing anti-police-brutality protests, according to local accounts. Japan conducts first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering. Japan has conducted the countrys first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering for a NYK pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) by LNG bunker vessel Kaguya.

Inmarsat Crew Welfare Open Innovation Challenge shortlist announced. Inmarsat, the world leader in global, mobile satellite communications, has announced the shortlist of entries to the Open Innovation Challenge , a global competition aimed at identifying new technologies to benefit crew safety, health and wellbeing launched with Shell Shipping & Maritime and digital consultancy Thetius.
