Cruise ship SOVEREIGN accident in Naples Cruise ship SOVEREIGN collided with pier while docking at Naples, Italy, at around 0600 UTC Sep 26, on arrival from Barcelona, Spain. Understood the ship struck San Vincenzo terminal, home to local ferries, opposite to cruise ships Stazione Maritima pier. Ro-ro and container ships collision, Piraeus Ro-ro cargo ship KAPETAN CHRISTOS collided with anchored container ship STADT DRESDEN on Piraeus outer anchorage at around 1930 UTC Sep 25, on arrival from Nisos Naxos, with 11 vehicles and drivers on board. Both ships reportedly sustained damages, KAPETAN CHRISTOS resumed her voyage soon after accident, called Piraeus and left for Elevsis, at 0700 UTC Sep 26 she was at Elevsis. Cargo ship holed, capsized, 13 crew rescued, China General cargo ship HAO XIANG 19 in stormy weather ran aground on a reef off Luxi island, east of Wenzhou in Zhejiang province, China, East China sea, issuing distress signal at around 0300 Beijing time Sep 25. The ship loaded with steel, with 13 crew, was en route from Taizhou to Wenzhou. SAR ships were sent, meanwhile the ship developed heavy starboard list caused by hold flooding. 2 of the crew managed to abandon ship in life raft, the rest were trapped on board because all life boats and rafts were were not accessible.
