California dive boat captain charged with manslaughter in maritime disaster. The captain of a dive boat that caught fire and sank off the California coast in 2019, killing 34 people in one of the states deadliest maritime disasters on record, was indicted on Tuesday on federal manslaughter charges, U.S. prosecutors said.

German maritime authority notified shippers of Nord Stream 2 work. The maritime authority in the German city of Stralsund has informed shippers about pipeline-laying activities from Dec. 5 through Dec. 31 in the Baltic Sea area where the controversial gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 will make landfall.
