Kolkata Port planning to set up a barge terminal at Balagarh Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) is planning to set up a barge terminal at Balagarh in West Bengal s Hooghly district, a top KoPT official said.
The cost of the project would be 300 crore, KoPT chairman Vineet Kumar said.
Kumar speaking at the Bharat Chamber of Commerce here, said the idea for setting up the barge terminal was to decrease the congestion at the Kolkata port.Posted On:29-Mar-2019

Takoradi Port welcomes biggest ship The biggest ship ever to anchor at the Takoradi Port since its construction in 1928, has arrived at the port to load a consignment of 175,000 tons of manganese destined for China.

Germany changes regulation to support construction of LNG terminals The German cabinet passed an amendment to the law that regulates gas network access (GasNZV) on Wednesday which seeks to improve the economic conditions for the country s liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure.

Adani becomes first Indian port operator to record 200 MMT cargo movement Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) said on Wednesday that it has recorded cargo movement of more than 200 million metric tonnes (MMT) at nine ports along the east and west coasts, becoming the first Indian port operator to achieve the milestone.
