A Chinese port has topped the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development s (UNCTAD) 2019 ranking of the world s best-connected ports.
The Port of Shanghai garnered a connectivity score of 134 points in UNCTAD s port Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (port LSCI), followed by the ports of Singapore (124.63 points), Pusan (114.45 points) in Korea and Ningbo (114.35 points), also in China.Posted On:16-Aug-2019

Ship suspected of carrying coal spotted at N. Korean port
A cargo ship suspected of carrying coal has been spotted at a North Korean port, a US broadcaster said Wednesday, raising the possibility of a violation of global sanctions on Pyongyang.
The 110-meter-long ship was spotted docked at the North s western port of Nampo along with plenty of black materials nearby in a satellite photo taken Tuesday by the U.S. Earth imaging company Planet Labs, according to Voice of America (VOA).Posted On:16-Aug-2019

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has concluded an agreement to supply comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance services to Operaciones Portuarias Canarias S.A. (OPCSA) at their Las Palmas container terminal. Work Begins on AIDA Cruises New LNG-Fueled Ship
German shipbuilder Meyer Werft has cut the first steel for the next cruise ship for AIDA Cruises.
The steel cutting ceremony was held in Papenburg on August 15, marking the start of production of the new cruise vessel.
